Astro Persona — Claude Code Setup Guide

☿ Prerequisites

You need a persona ID from your onboarding or account page. This is the identifier tied to your natal chart.

01 · Configure MCP

Add to settings.json

Open your Claude Code MCP configuration file at .claude/settings.json (project-level) or ~/.claude/settings.json (global). Add the Astro Persona server:

Replace YOUR_PERSONA_ID with the persona ID you received at checkout.

02 · Add a CLAUDE.md instruction

Inject persona at session start

Add this to your project's CLAUDE.md so the persona is loaded automatically:

# Agent Persona
At the start of every session, call the get_persona MCP tool.
Inject the returned merged dict as your behavioral context.
Speak, reason, and make decisions in accordance with it.
Do not reference astrology or your chart directly.

03 · Verify

Test the connection

Start a new Claude Code session. The agent should call get_persona and begin exhibiting the personality traits from the merged dict. You can verify by asking the agent what it loves or what drives it.

Transit updates run hourly. Your agent's register will shift subtly over time as planetary positions change. This is by design.

☽ Troubleshooting

Tool not appearing? Ensure the MCP server entry is valid JSON and the URL is correct. Restart Claude Code after editing settings.json.

Invalid API key error? Verify your persona ID on the account page. The ID should start with persona_.

Empty persona? Make sure you've completed the birth data step during onboarding. A chart must be cast before the persona engine can assemble traits.
